Some Qobuz albums that I played very often are high in my Most Played ordering. I bought and downloaded some of those albums and set my local FLAC version as the new Primary Version. The album remains high in the most played ordering, although the local album has a low play count. This is what I want and expect. However, after a reboot of ROCK, the album goes to the bottom of Most Played. When I temporarily toggle the Qobuz version as Primary, and after that toggle my local version back as Primary, the ordering is restored correctly again.
Anyone else also experiencing this little annoyance?
This is correct. Play history is associated with the version, not the release group. That is, the Qobuz album, and the album you purchased are not the same version.
Plays are definitely separate by version - that’s easy to verify by looking at the play counts of different versions.
However, if Hide Albums is enabled, then the My Albums > Sort by Most Played order is an aggregate of all versions. (Not sure if this is what’s broken for the OP)
If Hide Albums is off, each version is shown separately with its own play count, of course.
In Home > Recently Played, the versions are always shown and counted separately.
Thanks, but also after a restart of your Roon server?
My Show Hidden Albums setting is set to ‘No’. When I toggle Primary, ordering seems to be done using the aggregate count of the two grouped versions, but only until a restart. Then the count of only the Primary version seems to be used.
I think I can conclude this because when switching Show Hidden Albums to ‘Yes’, the individual versions are at a different location in the ordering than the ‘aggregate’ group with the ‘No’ setting.
Again, not a big deal, but I use this ordering to quickly find my favorites. I might just need to be patient until I played the bought version more often than the Qobuz version
I understand and thanks for confirming. But what I experience is that the aggregate is lost after a restart of Roon server… See also my reply to @Moonshiner
This shouldn’t be the case and sounds like a bug. I’m moving house and can’t test right now but I’ve been doing a lot with Most Played in recent months and for sure it didn’t do this for me.
