Description of Issue
Since one of the latest Roon updates, the Motu DAC, as well JRiver, ASIO4All and Audiolense RAAT are no longer listed under settings/audio/devices. More precisely it’ll flash for 1 second and show all these devices and then they will disappear for 30sec and flash again (see attached pics). I saw someone report the same issue with their RME DAC recently.
I have updated to the latest windows 10 update, and Roon update 2.0 build 1272. The Motu driver1.4.0+90954 | April 12, 2022 is the most recent one.
I’ve rebooted the PC a few times, no luck.
I can play music on the PC out to the DAC without any issues. The windows device manager does not show any issues.
@Omid_Mostachfi, I don’t use any native software or drivers from Focusrite with my Scarlett 2i2, and have not seen any issues on W10 or W11 computers running Roon.
If you disable your Motu driver, does your Motu stabilize in Roon using Windows’ WASAPI driver?
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately it did not make a difference. Don’t forget JRiver and ASIO4All and Audiolense RAAT have disappeared too not just Motu so I don’t think it’s device specific.
So maybe check if the RAATServer process is still running? Check firewall if there is still an exception for RAATServer (make sure it points to the right executable file)? Check Windows system event log?
PS: While not the same type of setup but same brand …
Another update. I loaded Roon core to my laptop PC with windows 10, connected it via usb to the DAC. Roon found it and played music fine.
Also the NUC PC can play music via winows onto the DAC. So the problem seems to be related to my NUC PC and Roon interaction. I reinstalled Roon core and the Motu windows driver on my NUC PC, but it made no difference. Any ideas?
