Description of Issue

Roon core was working fine on a Dell laptop running windows 10 (i7 with I think 8GB RAM), over wifi. moved to a Lenovo PC - Thinkpad i5 8GB RAM, also win 10.

I restored the backup from USB, logged in and Lenovo says it’s the core. I see all my albums, and my devices.

When I go to settings, general : Roon core = “This PC”, but, now iPhone and other PC’s (remotes) don’t find the new core. And, while I can run the iFi Zen streamer ok from Lenovo, the Lenovo no longer operates KEF LS50W. I get the “lost control of device” error message.

Lenovo not using ethernet, just wifi, but so was the Dell.
HELP!!!

If you are using Windows, then disable the antivirus and the firewall, and check if the problem persists.

BRILLIANT!!! THANKS!!! That worked.

Now that it works check the firewall and see if it has Roon.exe and Raatserver.exe as exceptions.
If they aren’t there, add them and see if it still works with the firewall back on.
