I need help with moving my Roon Library. I would like to move from Win 11 IBM Think Server to a Mac Mini and would like to know how I can move the library.
Describe your network setup
I have a Google mesh network. Roon server will be hardwired to an wall ethernet port. The network consists of 3 switches which supports all of the in wall ethernet run.
@Geoff_Coupe is pointing at a right article for your case.
Please observe it.
Hello @
Thank you for sharing additional details.
If Windows is configured to use a comma (,) instead of a dot (.) as the decimal symbol, the backup created on that PC will not restore correctly on the Nucleus(Or other Unix machine).
This happens because the backup data is generated using the regional settings of the system, and the comma as a decimal separator leads to incompatibility when restoring on Nucleus.
To resolve this, you will need to create a new backup. Please adjust your Windows regional settings so that the decimal symbol is set to a dot (.) instead of a comma (,).
1. Change the Decimal Symbol in Windows
On your Windows PC, open the Control Panel.
Quick way: press Win + R, type control, and press Enter.
Go to:
3.Clock and Region* → Region.
In the Region window, click Additional settings….
In the Numbers tab, find the field Decimal symbol.
Change the value from a comma (,) to a dot (.).
Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.
2. Create a New Backup
Open Roon on your Windows PC.
Go to Settings → Backups → Schedule or backup now.
Create a new backup with the updated locale settings.
Let us know please whether you can succeed with it.
I have followed and changed the windows settings to create a new back up and will kick off the backup shortly. Nothing else to report now till I install Roon the Mac mini. Thank you for the help.
It worked well. I knew that Roon creates own list that I did not how to sync to Tidal but now figured it out but overall migration from Windows to Mac worked.
