Multichannel not available?

Hi - I have a Windows 10 PC with a USB Meridian Explorer2 DAC connected to my marantz receiver and when I try to select multichannel in device setup to play multichannel DSD files on my computer, I can see it (set at 2) but I can’t change it. I’ve looked for info here but the things I’ve found seem to be HDMI specific. Does multichannel simply not work with thIs setup? I could get multichannel DSD files to play while ago with a jriver trial but would obviously rather do it with my Roon software…Thanks in advance…

Your Explorer2 is a 2-channel PCM/MQA DAC, that will do neither multichannel nor MQA DSD.

If your computer has HDMI out, your could try that route.

Thanks for the responses - just curious how it worked with JRiver then - somehow downsampled to PCM but keeping the multichannelmix? I’m not nearly as adept at this stuff as so many of the folks here so I really appreciate the sharing of info and support…
