Description of Issue
Started having issues with frequent brief (1-2 seconds) drop-outs a day or two ago.
Today, I keep being logged out soon after logging on (can’t stay logged in).
All of my playlists are sometimes gone, sometimes not (when I log back in because I’ve been mysteriously logged out).
I have both Tidal and Qobuz that are connected. Keeps logging Tidal off.
keeps saying it’s not connected to the internet when all of the devices are connected with the internet.
Says certain tracks in playlists are unavailable when there’s no reason for them to be unavailable.
Have tried closing and restarting app which hasn’t helped.
Yes, doesn’t help - tried yesterday and again this morning. Rebooted all devices including core computer (iMac mentioned above). Was able to log in, but playlists gone (though Artists and Albums show up), then Roon logged itself out after a few minutes… Logged back in and started playing an album. Roon didn’t log me out immediately but kept playing the album. But when I opened Roon on my iPhone 14 and and did something unrelated - looked at playlists - which show up but most tracks listed as “unavailable” when they should be available - that stopped play from the core and logged me off. On my laptop (2020 MacBook Air) when I try to log-in to Roon, I get the message “Network error: Please check your internet connection.” But the internet connection is fine and the wifi connection is fine. I can go to web sites, and I can listen to streaming music via Apple Music.
It might be relevant that for a day or two before these huge problems started happening, when I would use Roon I was experiencing frequent (every minute or two) brief audio drop-outs (a second or two). So Roon was already showing signs of being “unstable” for lack of a more precise or technical term.
something else a little weird though probably unrelated - I’ve been using Roon for something like 5 years (and have searched this forum while logged in - though I don’t remember if I’ve posted before) but when I click on my icon it says I joined Roon 17 hours ago… Is that keyed to your first post rather than having an account?
Maybe is more than unrelated. I do remember that I did subscribe to roon and also I did post in this forum. So I do not know how it works,
Also all my ideas are just blanks, you can try whatever makes sense to you. I’m thinking what I would try if I was to have this problem. I’ve seen your post and I was hoping someone has an answer. Until that here is what I would do:
Database backups (2 or 3 in different places)
Remove tidal/qobuz from roon. Go and change passwords for your accounts. Empty cache and restart roon. Relog on roon to the two services.
I totally trust you that is not a network issue, but still I would try to cable connect just to check if same problem.
I would disable all airplay and handoffs (I guess you use the same Apple ID on all of your devices)
I would connect a dac directly to the core on iMac to see if same problem.
What Roon app do you run on your iMac? For my core Roon Server works better, but I’m on a headless m1 mini. So I would try Roon Server on the iMac
Sounds like similar (although not exact) to the issues I have running a Core on a MBP when running MacOS. Just flagging it here in case they are related to larger issues with a Core on MacOS:
