Is it possible to have multiple queues associated with one output device, so you could toggle between them?

I think the closest you could get to this would be to use playlists and then switch from one playlist to the other??
Thanks for the idea. Not quite as good as Roon providing the capability, but meets the needs of wanting multiple queues available.
What other software provides multiple queues? Not heard of any myself, not sure I see the point of it as playlists serve the same purpose more or less, what’s the use case?
If you have Roon on a pc then you could activate the other output options on it such as system audio build a queue on that, build a queue on the main playback zone and switch it over but you will loose the existing one on one device when it’s switched as there is no way to save it.
One endpoint can represent multiple end points. Each can have its own queue. RAAT, then AirPlay, then Chromecast? That is the only to do what you propose I think.
now there’s an idea. You could enable all the unused devices/zones in settings/audio ( I count eleven unused “devices/zones” in my system).
Then build queues in each one of those zones and then transfer them to the zone you want to play them on.

You could even name the zones so you know what that zones queue is filled with.
One drawback I see is that if you actually use the zone that you built the queue in it will transfer the queue at the point in the queue that it is “now playing” so you might loose some of the tracks that have already played in that zones queue. But if you never play the zone it would always have that list of tracks queued up.
Playlists would be a good way to make a permanent list of tracks, then place the playlist in the zones you are not using, then transfer to the zone you want to play them on when needed, would be another method. This way even if you accidently play or empty the seed zones you have the playlist to fall back on.
