Today I have a the small circle indicating activity in the upper right screen when I open my Roon tab. When clicked on it says “Added Music to Library 553 of 553 files added. 0 identified”.
This function appears to be frozen. Restart not effective
and found no way to stop it.
Never had this occur and did not add 553 files at any one time.

So we can better understand what might be happening, can you fill out the rest of the template with your setup details?
Did this start happening after and changes were made? Were there any new files imported? Any changes to your storage location or network setup?
After 3 days it seems to be finished. Did not try downloading any big file like that though.
