Music Library on NAS which shuts down at night

No, NUCs have an internal M2 NVMe interface for an SSD containing the Rock OS and Roon database, and a SATA interface supporting a large music drive. You should fit an internal music SSD, in addition to the M2 drive, and use your NAS as a backup device.

That is true. I misread the specifications. That does make things a lot easier

Out of interest, I have a NUC, I fitted a 4Tb internal SSD and for “non core” music, I have a 5 tb USB HDD, both work perfectly and silently if that important to you.

I don’t have a NAS but use USB dives for backup. Each drive has 2 equal drives for BU,

A quick follow-up to close out this topic.

My ROCK setup is now up and running. Database successfully restored from the Synology Core and music is now syncing from the NAS to the internal storage I installed in the NUC via rsync as described in this very helpful post: Roon ROCK Synology rsync setup

Thank you all for your input here in this thread.
