Hey @Dave_Lampson,

Thanks for taking the time to write in! It’s good to see you on community again.

The first troubleshooting step I’d suggest is to upgrade your ROCK to the current Roon version - 1480. It looks like you’re running an outdated version of Roon that may be causing you playback issues.

After updating, if you’re still having playback issues, please take note of the specific date, time, and name of track playing. From there, we’ll enable diagnostics on your Roon Server to take a closer look.

Thank you! :raised_hands:

Thanks very much, Benjamin, but I’m a little confused. Are you saying that the version of ROCK that was downloaded today and installed is not current? Can you point me at the procedure for getting and installing a new Roon version please?

The image in the ROCK download is never the latest Roon version. You are supposed to update after installation. See step #6 here:

(Otherwise it should prompt for an update in the Roon app, though. Does it ask to update if you go to Settings > Audio?)

I didn’t bother with codecs, because I don’t use them. How does installing codecs effect a software update?

No, it doesn’t, and now I’m even more confused. When should it ask this? It’s not mentioned in any of the literature I found art the site,

It’s the final step of the installation instructions, “6. Installing Codecs and Setting Up For First Run”. The first sentence is about the codecs. The second sentence is “Be sure to also confirm that ROCK is on the latest version. You can trigger ROCK to update by selecting Reinstall from the Web UI.”

It’s a bit strange to me, if your ROCK isn’t up to date. What does it show there?
