My Android devices can't connect to Roon ARC (ref#4KHPJM)

Network Setup

· My only router was provided by my ISP

ARC Status

· ARC is *Not Ready*

Roon Error Code

· “natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}, “upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”} }

Have you successfully located and enabled the UPnP or NAT-PMP settings in your router's web UI?

· UPnP is not listed in my router settings

· How would you like to continue with the network configuration?
I would like to try and find a solution for UPnP/NAT-PMP on Roon Community

Hi @dan.dreid,
Welcome to the Roon community! I’m sorry that a problem is what brought you here for the first time. Can you post the full status message on your Roon ARC settings page. Unfortunately the snippet you posted doesn’t show the whole picture. From what I can see Roon likely wasn’t able to automatically configure the port forwarding rules on your router. If that’s the case here are your options:

  1. The easiest solution is to skip port forwarding altogether and use Tailscale to connect ARC to your server. You can follow this guide to set it up.
  2. If you prefer, you can manually configure port forwarding on your router instead. This article walks you through the process.

If you have any questions after reviewing the articles, let us know—we’re happy to help!

I have implemented TailScale. I see both my Android and the Nucleus One connected listed in TailScale admin.

“ipv6_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“172.hhh.iii.jjj”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“2607:aaa:bbb:ccc:ddd:eee:fff:ggg”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},

“upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}

Hi @dan.dreid,

You can ignore the diagnostic in Roon Settings → ARC, since it only tests port forwarding (not Tailsacle).

What do you see in Settings in ARC on the phone itself? The server and cloud connections should both be illuminated green with the Tailscale interface active on the phone and Nucleus.

We’ll watch for your response!

On my Android phone I open Roon ARC. I disconnected from Nucleus One. Logged back in. Reconnected to Nucleus One.
“There is an issue with your Roon Server.”
“Disconnect fom Nucleus One” is my only option.

Hi @dan.dreid,
We will need to take a look at your logs to do further troubleshooting. Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader? Once you upload them let us know here and we will take a look!

Hey @dan.dreid,

Thanks for sending those over! While our team takes a closer look - I wanted to double-check, what happens if you change the port number slightly on both your router port forwarding settings, as well as on your Roon Settings > Roon Arc page within your Roon settings?

Or, if you didn’t setup a manual port forwarding rule, and used UPnP - what happens if you just change the port number in your Nucleus settings, and then reboot your router. Do you run into the same issue?

Also, it looks like the logs you’ve uploaded are from your Mac running Roon. We’ll need a set of logs from your Nucleus running Roon Server, if you could please give that another try - thank you! :raised_hands:
