My ark is connected but doesn’t connect to my sp2000 like my roon does is the portal number a factor
Nolan, sorry to hear about your issues. I am a fellow user, but the community is here to assist you. Can you please fill out the information below so we have the appropriate information:
Describe The Issue
When you start a thread in the #support category, make sure to include:
- What’s not working
- How often the issue occurs
This could be “every time I start the app”, or “every time I click a certain button”, etc.
If you’re having a crash or an issue that happens sporadically, it’s helpful if you can let us know an approximate time for when it last happened.
Describe Your Setup
It’s important that you include all relevant setup information so our team can get a clear understanding of the issue.
Your post should include:
- Details on your Core machine (OS, Hardware specs, Roon build)
- Details on your Remote(s) (OS, Hardware specs, Roon build)
- Networking details (especially what hardware you’re using, how everything is connected, and anything notable about how it’s all configured)
- Audio devices in use
- Library details (where your music is stored, whether you’re using a streaming service, how many tracks are in your library)
Including these details in your first post helps us resolve your issues faster.
My ark doesn’t connect to my a and k 2000 dap my roon alone does i have roon Nucleus doing 2 .0 a Ps Audio direct stream dac a Macintosh 1900 integrated amp a Innuos network switch a moon audio silver balanced cable and audeze 4z headphones the ark plays music on my Samsung phone but it doesn’t take over tidal on the sp2000 as the roon app does Everything seems in order was wondering if the portal number currently 55000 or setup is a factor
Your A&K is Roon Ready and will only work on local network it has nothing to do with ARC and won’t work with ARC. Arc is a standalone app that is used on a phone or dap ( needs Android 9 or higher and via the Appstore) to allow it to connect remotely to your core. It does not work direct to your A&K Roon Ready feature, that’s not the purpose of it.
Sorry the ark app is on my Samsung 9+ phone as is my roon app when i use the app it plays on the phone but doesn’t go to the sp2000 however the roon app does
Can i download the app on my sp2000
Nolan, the ARC application plays only to the mobile phone/mobile device on which it is installed. You may be able to use AirPlay, Bluetooth, Chromecast, or a connected USB DAC from the mobile phone if that is an option.
Are you running Android 9 or Android 10 on your S9+? ARC requires a minimum of Android 9, and it appears that the S9+ can be updated only as far as Android 10.
I am not sure how A&K manages applications for download. If from the SP2000 you can log into the Google play store, then I believe you will be able to download the Android version of the Roon 2.0 app. Again, I believe you will need at least Android 9.
