If I search for an artist listed as a Track Artist (but not as an Album Artist) in the “My Artists” view, they don’t show up. Is this by design?
Yes. “My Artists” is meant to be main (album) artists only.
Note: Roon is album based, not track based, by design. Means the main “unit” everything refers to (until specifically stated otherwise, or illogical by nature) is albums. So for “My Artists” it is album artist - “Various Artists” isn’t an artist though, so VA albums are missing from that view completely.
There is a tracks browser where you can filter by (track) artist (unless you’re using a phone).
That’s what I feared. Searching for artists on compilation‑only releases isn’t very intuitive, even when using track view with an added “Artist” column.
