Looks like quite a nice unit. I’ll have to add it to the list. This is what’s been on my mind…
How are things? ![]()
I’m just DAC shopping. I’m selling the Brooklyn as soon as I have a replacement.
Was Mytek at HighEnd Munich? Curious if anyone got an update on the status of things.
The lack of updates is telling. Just sayin…
Yep. It’s not my problem anymore. Ended up getting a McIntosh MB50 streamer that I’m running a DSD digital USB to digital optical into and sold the Mytek for more than I paid for the Mac. Good riddance.
Some good Myetk products, but the after-sales service could be improved.
I think golden age of Mytek was when it was manufactured by HEM
Oooh. Hot take. I’ll bet @Mytek_Audio would take umbrage to that, but you’re likely right, and the same thing is, that’s not saying much.
Designed and manufactured.
Once HEM realized that they do not need an intermediary and can can sell exensive snake oil while keeping all the money, the whole of the business model of Mytek collapsed.
Someone on different forum posted a link to Polish job portal https://www.gowork.pl/opinie_czytaj,24006541
Excerpts translated with Deepl Translator:
Avoid. The owner constantly avoids payment of wages for work done. The case at the stage of pre-court recovery.
I see from the posts that nothing has changed in the company. Lying to customers that the equipment (which is not even half-finished yet) will be shipped “tomorrow”, and to employees that the salary will hit the account. As soon as a person stops working with the company, the payment of salaries drags out even longer.
Unfortunately, what the predecessors write is true. Payment shortfalls of several months for employees are the norm. New job offers appear on the site when money is not found to pay current employees. This looks like standard procedure. As someone who doesn’t feel like going into debt for the sake of the company’s good name, steer clear. As far as I can see, the company is no longer based in Gdynia.
It seems that this company is cooked. And indeed they are looking for new people

Still no update from the owner of Mytek, @Mytek_Audio on the status of the company or @JohnSherlockHolmes issue. Odd. Should we assume they have gone out of business based on the prior comments above.
I sold the DAC, which is why no update from me. My local guy made it work again, and to the fleabay it went. As for @Mytek_Audio, would you pop your head up here after probably costing yourself the last of your customer base?
Excellent points @JohnSherlockHolmes. Hope you are enjoying your new gear and thank you for sharing your story. A cautionary tale indeed.
While Mytek’s business might very well be struggling and even potentially on deaths door, I think it would be presumptuous to assume that they have gone out of business. I believe if they had gone out of business you would have heard about it. You are more likely to hear about that than anyone’s specific issue with Mytek. If they fold there would be some buzz in the audiophile community for sure.
Please note I never said they were out of business thus my question. I asked if we should assume due to the most recent experiences by members of this community dealing with mytek plus the additional information shared by members directly or indirectly impacted.
The “business” seems to consist of taking preorders and not fulfilling them ![]()
Wait, I know that business model. Didn’t Charles Ponzi get famous for that?
Yes indeed!
