Naim Firmware Upgrade TIdal Max

Describe your network setup

Nucleaus Plus - Wired

Hello - my first support - think I may have stuffed up my forum post!

  1. New Firmware for Naim Devices is out - Supporting Tidal Max
  2. Once switched to Tidal Max - Naim play 24/192 24/48 from Tidal using the App or Tidal Connect
  3. However through Roon - they still play at 16/44 (yes the fiiles are encoded higher)

I suspect we will need a Roon update?

Go to Roon > Settings > Services > Tidal > Edit, set the Streaming Quality to Max.

The Naim firmware update was never necessary for Tidal Max playback with Roon. When using Roon, all the communication with Tidal happens on the Roon server and the endpoint receives the final decoded PCM data - the endpoint doesn’t need to know anything about Tidal, Qobuz, or whatever.

I am playing Tidal Max hi-res to my Naim NDX-2 right now and I didn’t update the Naim firmware yet.

ThAnkyou - that’s perfect. I found that setting and all good !
