Naim Mu-so QB 2 and KEF LS50 Wireless 2 not recognized as Roon Ready (ref#D0EEON)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I have a nucleus Rev B. All of my Roon Ready items work except my Naim Mu-so qb 2 and my recent purchase the Kef ls50 wireless 2. The Mu-so QB 2 worked for around a year and then just disappeared yet it's still available with airplay on Roon app. The kef has also been available by airplay. Both show up on my Eero app along with the other Roon Ready items are are available which include my Hegel h390, blue sound speakers and Naim Mu-so 2. I have rebooted router and nucleus countless time and nothing. I also have the kef set on wifi. Side note, both the two items not seen as Roon Ready are not hooked by ethernet while the others are. I did hook up the qb 2 by ethernet and still did not show up

Hello @John_english !

We are sorry to see that you have this problem.

We were able to retrieve diagnostic data from your device and can see that connection of devices frequently times out with log “RAAT Session timed out during initialization” .

Can you please clarify for us, whether you have any complications in your network like multiple VLANS ? Also, would that be possible for you to put the devices on a wired network for testing purpose or at least move them closer to the wi fi router if possible ?

Thanks!

Regards

Thank you for your response. I am not super tech savvy and had to look up VLANS. I do use the Eero mesh system. There are a total of four units. Three of them are hooked up by ethernet with only one on the 2nd floor connected by wifi. I do have a splitter on the main one that is linked to my router. I also have splitters attached to the other two connected Eero units.

I have noticed some RAAT sessions cutting out which is always frustrating. I have excellent At&T fiber so I don’t think that would be the problem but what do I Know.

I have hooked up the the Mu-so qb 2 by ethernet and no luck. Perhaps I need to let it be hooked up for a bit for it to show up. Tonight I will hook up the Kef LS50 wireless 2 to ethernet and see what happens. As mentioned before, they are both showing up as airplay options on Roon.

Could it be my nucleus not working well? It is around 5 years old although I would think they should last longer

Hi @John_english,

The most likely culprit is that the Eero network is interfering with multicast device discovery or otherwise handling traffic in a manner Roon doesn’t expect.

Eero mesh networks have a tendency to relegate devices to separate blocks, which can mimic separate VLANS/subnetworks.

Please see the section in this guide entitled “Verify your IP address allocation.”

You’ll need to ensure that the entire network is sharing a single Class-C block. This requires you to take a few steps in the Eero settings page (usually an app).

Can you please clarify whether the “splitter” you mentioned in your previous post is a managed network switch? If you’re able to provide the make/model listed on the unit, that should be sufficient for our team to understand if those devices are interfering here.

Thank you and we’ll watch for your response.

It worked!! I moved the nucleus down to the main Eero, then I changed the network to a single class c block as directed. Damn I’m thrilled.

So this will make for a more stable network I am assuming. Very grateful, thank you
