I found out about roon-on-wine recently, and tried installing roon on Arch Linux using the script. But when I try to log in I get stuck on the redirecting screen, unable to log in to the app/GUI. I tried connecting to the roon server with my phone and “unlocking the server”; something I saw suggested in one of these linux threads. But my phone doesn’t connect to the server, and I don’t see this solution working with other devices. I would like to ask for help. I can’t find any other workarounds, but I’m 90% sure that there are others, I just haven’t found them. Could someone help me with this issue? Or direct me where this problem has been solved?
You can’t login using the Wine version of Roon, and will need to use a mobile device instead.
The reason for this is that Roon uses OAuth for login and for this to succeed, the web browser needs to pass a token to the Roon app. Because you are using Wine, which isn’t a native Linux app, the browser can’t send the token because the redirect fails.
I guess you could install a browser in the same Wine prefix, and try that, but this seems like an unnecessary step for an occasional event.

Thank you for the clarifiction! And thank you in advance for your attention! I figured there was something going wrong like that with linux & wine applications.
I may have read something wrong, or just missed it, but I can’t find clear instructions on how to, nor the way others have used a mobile device to log into wine-roon. I’ve been trying to do it with the Roon Remote app on Android, but that doesn’t work for me. Could you give me some elaboration on how to do that step?

If you are signed into the Roon Remote App on Android, then that is all you need. When you open Roon over WINE, disconnect the server from that instance and try to reconnect again and it will show up. Or if your server shows up, just click it and it will automatically open.
Edit: The above assumes you already have a Roon Server running somewhere
That’s how it should work.
Roon Remote finds and displays any Roon Server instance that are running and offers those connection option.
- Where did you install Roon Server?
- Have you confirmed it is actually running on that device?
- Can you share some screenshots of what you’re seeing when you attempt to use Roon Remote on Android.
I’m not clear on whether you installed the native Linux version of Roon Server at all. Roon-on-Wine is best used for the GUI only.
I assumed the OP already had a server running, but I shouldn’t assume 
Alright, to everyone here asking me questions and trying to help me, thank you very much, and, sorry 
. I set up a firewall on my system some time ago and it didn’t occur to me that it would block Roon Remote. I turned it off and my phone connected to the server. Now I am logged in to Roon on Arch Linux!
I am now using the Roon Server that comes from the Roon Website, I thought that would fix the problem. It did not, but it’s nice seeing that that is the better option.
Thank you all again, for the help, I am finally past logging in. Hopefully I won’t run into many other problems

If you’re using Uncomplicated Firewall, use these rules for Roon Server.

I was about to say “firewall?” but then thought “nah, there’s no default firewall on Arch” 
I have Roon Client in WINE on Ubuntu, but I don’t think that makes much of a difference compared to Arch.
So may I ask how it works for you to connect to the audio devices on your Linux system with the Roon client in WINE? I have not gotten this to work properly. The various (USB DACs) connected to my Linux system (which ofcourse work outside of Roon in WINE) are shown, but they never connect - meaning selecting them as audio devices in Roon in WINE hangs with the red “Enabling…” message, and it never does enable it, that’s it.
Install native Room Bridge. Only use Wine for the GUI/control.
Aha… separately install the roon-brige as well, yes that makes sense. Will have a go at that. Thnks.
