ISSUE: Anything happens in your PLAYLIST tracks with lost access to LOCAL disks / or Internet STREAM ?
In first case cannot play LOCAL tracks from playlists,
In second case can’t play STREAMED tracks from playlists !
Especially with persistent local disk failures, replacement/ recovery can be fastidious.
SOLUTION PROPOSED: have playlist tracks referenced to :
*** by priority file either STREAMED or on LOCAL file folder**
*** If not found, on LOCAL file (if exists) or via Internet STREAMED access ( Qobuz, Spotify, Nirvana, etc…)**
And why not also designate a BACKUP location for LOCAL files ?
That would greatly improve the robustness of PLAYLISTS with much less effort to keep them directly usable.
Those like me with significant inheritance of local folder libraries that represent hundreds of HOURS of ripping CDs, not necessarily easy to find on Internet, will understand the incentive of this. And hopefully it adresses several previous requests around playlists, like :
