Network connectivity error with UPnP configuration conflict (ref#EW0MIF)

Network Setup

· I use my ISP's router alongside a personal router.

ARC Status

· ARC is *Not Ready*

Roon Error Code

· ConflictInMappingEntry

What status do you see after changing the port?

· ARC is "Not Ready"

Don't give up yet.

· I'm stuck. I'd like to create a post to ask Roon Community for help.

Describe the issue

Error code {
"ipv4_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"},
"external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"65.aaa.bbb.ccc","actual_external_ipv6":"null","router_external_ip":"null"},
"natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"},
"upnp_autoconfig": {"server_ip":"192.168.68.1","found_upnp":true,"error":"s:ClientUPnPError718ConflictInMappingEntry"}
}

Describe your network setup

Century Link-their modem C3000Z

The ConflictInMappingEntry implies that an attempt to use uPnP configure a port forwarding rule for a port that is already being forwarding has been made.

The easiest way to resolve this is to change the port (in the Roon → Settings → Roon ARC setting page) to a different port number - say 56000 or 60000. If must be a number between 1025 and 65535 inclusive).

Changed to port 56000, same error code.
{
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“65.aaa.bbb.ccc”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.68.1”,“found_upnp”:true,“error”:“<s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/\” s:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/\“><s:Body><s:Fault>s:ClientUPnPError<UPnPError xmlns="urn:schemas-upnp-org:control-1-0">718ConflictInMappingEntry</s:Fault></s:Body></s:Envelope>”}
}

OK - so try something very different - like 10000.

Does your router have a page on it’s web UI that shows all of the port forwarding rules both manually setup and automatically setup by uPnP? If so, look for ranges that are not used.

E.g., on my Asus router, I have this page:

Port Forwarding using uPnP will not work with two routers.

If you have not done so already, you will need to either put the ISP router into bridge mode or modem only mode or you will have to turn off uPnP and set up manual port forwarding on both routers.

On the ISP router, forward TCP connections on the ARC port to the WAN side ip address of your second router. On the second router, forward TCP connections on the ARC port to the ip address of your Roon Server.

Hi @jim1,

In a two-router setup, Tailscale is often easier to setup than port forwarding.
