There is some news:

An optional additional feature for RoonPilot will be available soon: RoonPilot IR Bridge

RoonPilot can be optionally extended with the RoonPilot IR Bridge, a small ESP32-based companion that lets Roon zones control devices whose volume or power functions are not available through Roon. Any Roon zone can be linked individually to the Bridge and assigned its own IR profile, commands and volume settings. Pairing, configuration, IR learning, profile management, diagnostics and firmware updates are handled exclusively through RoonPilot—no separate app, web interface or additional service is required. Communication uses encrypted Bluetooth Low Energy by default; optional authenticated Wi-Fi can be enabled and provisioned directly by RoonPilot for greater range and faster firmware updates. RoonPilot securely sends the selected zone’s volume, mute and power actions to the Bridge, which reproduces the learned infrared commands of the original remote control. A practical example is the RME ADI-2 DAC: RoonPilot can adjust its hardware volume directly by IR while preserving the DAC’s Auto Ref Level behaviour instead of changing Roon’s digital volume. The Bridge remains entirely optional and can be disabled completely when it is not needed.

Final tests are currently in progress. Further information will follow later.

This really sounds very interesting. Currently I am using the Roon-Knob (solution by muness). I wonder whether there is an easy way to switch to RoonPilot for testing (and back if it does not fit my needs)?

Another question: would the RoonPilot work for LMS (Lyrion Music Server), too?

The easy way to RoonPilot is the Web Installer.

Maybe not right away, but it’s an option for later. I don’t use LMS.
