I always found Roon display very basic and missing on the opportunity to leverage the visual power of big screens, particularly fruition of cover arts.
With that in mind, I modified the look and feel of Roon display to my likings - much bigger cover art and a cleaner setup. But then, I thought: how about adding some interactive functionalities that could be controlled with the TV’s remote? And so I added some more, all described below.
Now I’m happy with current development which improved my Roon experience by providing a more intimate fruition of and interaction with what I’m listening to.
Project is available on GitHub (only for MacOS), link.
See descriptions below.

Wow Looks amazing. Do I understand this right, you have developed your own app, which then in turn you can control all of this nice features. Is this then for an android tv? Are you “willed” to share this maybe? I would be interested in
best wishes
Hi,
yes, I created an installation package: a local server, an admin interface, and modified the 2 existing display files. Note that my package only works on mac. I can publish it on GitHub if you are interested. I share it under the condition that it is for personal use only, and I cannot provide guarantee nor support. I tested it on my mac and works fine. You will have to reinstall every time that Roon gets updated. Good thing though, is that it maintains its configuration, so you only configure it once.

Enrico
Hi
that would be very nice. So i will give it a try and see it fits to my needs and keep my old Mac continuously up and running.
One questions in advance, however will most likely see this soon, is your mac connected with the TV or do only control things via your mac and everything else is a standalone app, existing on the TV?
And yes for sure its only for my personal belongings without any support or guarantees at all from your side. For me Github is totally fine.
I really appreciate that you’re willed to share it with me. Thanks a lot for that Yuppieee.
Best regards,
Sebastian
Hi,
everything runs on the mac, and then I can cast to a chromecast device (TV) and control the Roon display using the TV control.
Cheers,
Enrico
Hi Sebastian,
I published the project on GitHub, link.
Kind regards,
Enrico
