Describe the issue

Since Roon has finished its initial scan of my library, I have added two things to one of the library folders: one is a DSD file and the other is the "Queue Bot" Album for the Queue Bot extension. But neither of them shows up in Roon under Folders. Neither of them is listed under Skipped files either. I'm a bit puzzled why this is not working, given that Roon says it's constantly watching for changes.

Describe your network setup

I don't think the network is relevant as the storage is local storage, not accessed via any network. (But the network devices are a TP-Link devices managed with the TP-Link Omada network controller.)

Edit: I might add that the files do show up when I navigate to their location via “Add folder”. So Roon definitely sees them, but does not add them to the library.

Take read at this KB and see if anything applies:

None of the issues described there applied, but I did a forced rescan and the files showed up.

So, the remaining question would be why they didn’t show up automatically. Or is my assumption wrong that they should?

I would also “assume” that they would just show up (mine always have)…It may be due to where your server vs where your files are stored. I have seen some MAC systems and some NAS systems need a forced rescan for new files to show.

Also, check in Settings/Library to make sure that background analysis in not “off”?

It’s on.

I guess it’s another weirdness with Roon that just have to get used to. Not a big deal for me. You just have to know that you need to do it manually. The reason I didn’t do it immediately was that I was afraid it would do a complete rescan (which would take 1-2 days to complete), but luckily it “Re-scan” just checks for new files.
