Describe the issue

Dear all,
with my older devices

MacBook Pro M1, macOS Ventura 13.7.1 , Roon Version 2.0 (build 1480) &
Apple iPad (9.7), 5. Generation, iPadOS 16.7.10, Roon Version 2.0 (build 1490)

I can access my roon core

Innuos Zen MK.II, InnuOS 2.6.4, Roon Version 2.0 (build 1490)

without any issues.

With my new iPad Air 11", M2 (iPadOS 18.2.1) I can just see the "connecting..." message and even
after waiting hours it doesn't work.

I kindly ask for your support to solve this issue.

Best regards,

Nicholas

Hey @niki0711,

Thanks for taking the time to write in, and welcome to the Roon Community!

As a first step, can you please review your router settings>device list and confirm your Roon devices are all running on the same subnet? There’s a chance multiple IPs could be causing confusion within your setup.

If you haven’t yet, I’d remove Roon and install a fresh download with the latest version, and see if you still have the same issue.

It’d also be worth reviewing any potential firewalls or third party security that could be blocking your iPad connection. If you haven’t yet, I’d safely stop Roon Server from running, and then power cycle both your server machine as well as your router, and let me know if you experience the same issues. :+1:

Dear Benjamin, thanks for your feedback. I’ve checked my router settings again an realized, that my old iPad as well as the new one are shown in the same subnet. When checking the details I realized that the MAC-/WLAN-codes of the two devices are “strange”. I did a reset of my new iPad, set it up from scratch without copying data from the old iPad an restarted my router. The connected devices displayed in my router are still a little bit confusing but at least it works! I’m happy to avoid further actions, thanks for your support.

Hi @niki0711,

We’re glad to hear that connectivity has been restored on the newer iPad. Diagnostics on our end see the device as of four hours ago, so we’re going to permit this thread to auto-close. Please reach out in a new topic thread if you encounter any issues moving forward. Thanks!
