Describe the issue

I bought a new Mac. When I opened Roon, I think I hit the wrong choice in some window about finding local devices. Because of this, Roon cannot find the Roon core, which is a Grimm MU2. I know it is up and running because the Roon apps on my iPhone and on my MacBook Pro find the Roon Core. I tried deleting and reinstalling Roon on my new Mac. Is there some other file I need to delete? Or, is there some other issue. I followed the checklist to get to this point, and all seems well. The prior Mac was connected to my network the same way and had no problems running Roon.

Describe your network setup

Grimm MU2 and Mac both connect by ethernet to Orbi wifi router. Router connects to a modem Century Link sold me.

If you are running macOS 15.x Sequoia, try this, it usually helps with device discovery:

. . . and we have a winner! That is exactly what happened. Thank you so much.

I am now having a problem setting up the new Network share location for the database backups on my new Mac mini. I seem to recall in the past finding a help page not precisely on this topic that had the key information. But I cannot find it now. “smb://Mac-mini.local/Music” is not working. Any ideas about something else being reset?

Never mind. I found the help page – “How do I create a shared folder on Mac and add it as a watched folder in Roon?” Not quite on topic, but it does spell out what I needed to do for a connection.

Thanks for your help, Suedkiez.
