New music streamer cannot navigate / manage music using Roon

I purchased a new Electroconpaniet ECM 1 MK II trying to set it up Roon could not find this streamer.

I connected my old server to a switch box so both are connected to the network at the same time.

Roon app recognized my old server streamer I was able to see my new Electroconpaniet listed.

I enabled it nothing is changed. I can only navigate Roon through my old server streamer.

The Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MK II is a DAC and Roon Ready streamer. However, it is not a Roon Server.

  • What are you using as the Roon server?
  • Please also explain in detail how your system is set up and how everything is connected. The description in the opening post is quite confusing.

I have a home brew ROCK server I purchased.

Both streamers are connected to my network, the Electroconpaniet APP shows Roon as one of the selections I can choose so as Tidal, Qobuz, Internet radio etc.

In the audio section of my Roon account the Electroconpaniet is listed to enable or disable.

Hmm, I click on enable and nothing, the screen on the Electroconpaniet displays Roon.

I then disconnect the old server I then loose Roon, the screen reverts back to searching.

Because you need a server to run Roon your new device is not a Roon server it’s an endpoint. So you need your old server active to use Roon and play to it.
