Hi Ronald have you looked at your Router to see what DHCP addresses have been given out or even easier gone to http://nucleus.local on your web browser.
This should pop up the Roon web page where it can be restarted etc.
Before you can use the Nucleus you will need to make a backup of your current database and copy the music across.
You will then need to log into the new Roon which will disable your old Roon install
It’s possibly downloading an upgrade and should therefore be left to do its thing (without removing power) for a while. As suggest, you can either try “nucleus.local” in a web-browser, or the assigned IP address - which can be found in your router or by attaching an HDMI tv/monitor. Good luck
Ben here with the support team, it’s great to see you on community again!
Since a few days have passed, I wanted to check in and see if you have been able to get your Nucleus up and running properly. Both @Michael_Harris and @mikeb have provided great next steps for troubleshooting if you’re still having issues.
Thanks for reaching out. I contacted Kevin Welch of Musica Pristina, who I have bought products from (including this Nucleus), and he did a remote session with me and we got it working.
The fix was a bit complicated, you could reach out to Kevin for the details. I do have another question…I transferred my music library to the internal SSD in the Nucleus via my network, but there are some duplicates and a couple of corrupted music files that I would like to correct, how do I go about editing/deleting music files from the Nucleus once in the SSD?
Ronald you can connect to the nucleus from a Mac or PC through the file share that is set up on the nucleus
Connect to server nucleus.local and you will see the share and you can just delete or overwrite the files in it using file explorer or finder.
Do you plan to add to this collection? If so I would use some file synchronisation software to automatically update them from where you rip or download them
Ronald I have been having this same problem for three years every time my Roon reboots, there is a power outage, etc. After such it won’t connect and no longer shows up in the network for at least two weeks and then just appears.
Do you know specifically what the steps are to correct this problem? I assume it’s something in Windows 10.
Sure would appreciate your advice as I have been without music at least a dozen times in the last three years.
wish i could be more help, but I cannot recall all of the things Kevin and I did to solve the problem. You might try upgrading your router. I was having TV problems and my AT&T technician tool one look at my router and said it was a terrible, problem-prone router that he just replaced immediately with a newer version, and that solved my TV problem. Suggest you look into the best one you can find.
