Hey - new to Roon. I see that there are discussions about New Release missing the mark, but they’re pretty old.
I received and email from Roon for the Roon Mastery Series today which touts their New Releases for you. I took a look today and it was way off. Lots of classical which I don’t listen to, and a whole lot of others that don’t match up to my interests at all. also - just too much stuff to wade through.
Will it get better as I continue to listen to tidal via Roon? has it ever worked well? or is it disappointing?
To me the function is working okay but it is not as “sharp” as Qobuz’ reccy’s (my choice of streaming). It’s not exactly revolutionary either, and i believe Spotify heads the pack here…
There was a glitch for a long period regarding the NRFY from Tidal not updating, but those should be resolved by now. Now the talk of the “town” is the glitches that caused favorites to be reordered due to a malfunction between Qobuz’s move of content to other CDNs and Roon syncing issues.
I have a large-ish local library, and use Qobuz mostly for purchases, and take music rental (streaming) for what it is, so i usually don’t fret much over the rigors of streaming services.
