New rock setup problems

I’ve picked up a Dell optiplex 7070 sff,i5 9500 6 core 3gz Base turbo to 4.2gz 8gb ram 128gbssd getting delivered tomorrow, got it for £180 which I think is a really good price, is 8gb ram enough or should I get more?it also takes a low profile gtx 1030-1050 I was told a graphics cards helps with dsp

8gb ram may be just fine.
16gb ram would be peachy though!

il see how i get on with 8gb,if I feel I need more il pick up another 8gb ram

Going to depend how big the library is now or grows to. Even streaming service adds to library count as tracks. I’ve found anything over 100k tracks you are heading into 16gb territory.

New pc arrived today, really pleased for £180 6core i5 9500 4.3gz 128gb ssd 8gb ram, really snappy ,installed roon in Windows on it and it does feel faster compared to my rock i3 6100 dual core, album art loads instantly but unfortunately after I reinstalled roon remote on my ipad pro the ui is still lagging and stuttering,so fickin annoying it totaly destroys the experience and roon don’t seem to be interested in fixing this, its a pretty simple fix so I don’t understand

Im betting its wifi network speeds…run a speedtest on your remotes and see how they go

My wifi is fine,it’s a issue with the roon app on on ios /android confirmed by mods, theve known about it since may,get it together roon

This scrolling issue seems unlikely to get fixed. It’s been months if not years people have been complaining about it. I’m not a developer, but I’ve been told it’s an issue with Xamarin, the non-native platform on which Roon apps were developed.

Fine dont bother with the speedtest… I have numerous iOS/iPadOS in my network and perform flawlessly all on latest OS versions… ranging from iPhone6s/X,13MP and some android and no scrolling issues. Library is 335K tracks and have Core used on Nucleus/MOCK/Win10/MacOS so do recheck your wifi.

Im a network specialist for the record too.

Ditto here 2 iPad mini, iPad Pro 12.9 etc etc, no issues at all. The software can and does work under correct or favorable conditions

When will people start to believe WiFi isn’t Sliced Bread :heart_eyes:j

Google … WiFi interference , it can be enlightening

when I said my wifi was fine maybe I should have explained more,I did a speed test and all is fine 245/42 download,I have mesh access point points in every room all connected with cat6,yesterday I even connected my ipad pro with a usb giga ethernet adapter to rule out wifi problems, all my apps on my ipad pro and iphone 13 pro max are really smooth and fast with the 120hrz screens only in the roon apps do I get stuttering and lag,it feels like its running at 30hrz,i even updated my pc from a i3 skylake to i5 9500 6core 4.4gz a faster nve256gb and 8gram so the issue isnt with roon core and ive ruled out wifi issues with connection the ipad with a ethernet adaptor, roon has confirmed there is issues on newer ios phones /ipad and some android tablets so we’re jst waiting on roon to actually fix this but there definitely dragging there heels
