New router causing Nucleus connectivity issue (ref#R0R0T1)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

Tell us what's going on

· I just bought a new router. I switched off my Nucleus and plugged it in to the new router, now Roon won't "find" my Nucleus. After several reboots, I uninstalled and reinstalled Roon on my Laptop (windows 11) and the remote app on my phone. Still no good. I have had a subscription and Nucleus for years and it's generally been very reliable with the Aqua Acoustics Linq streamer with their HQ player/Roon card installed. I am using Tidal and Qobuz. I think it's just a software issue. The router has a new wi fi network name and password. I'm not sure what it's IP address is. P.S. I'm not that IT proficient but I can usually follow instructions ok. Looking forward to your assistance. Peter

What happens if you click Select a different Roon Server?

Thanks for your reply. I was going to, but it warned me that I would lose all my history.

It says that you won’t be able to access the music on the „old“ server while you are connected to the „new“ server. Which would be true, but even then you could switch back to the old one whenever you want.

In your case, what Roon thinks is the new server is the same Nucleus device as the old server, but Roon isn’t sure because of the router switch - most likely, things changed on the network, e.g., the Nucleus probably has a different IP address.

Thanks so much for that.

It’s getting late here in Australia, so I’ll have another go in the morning. I’ve managed to install the new router and get several other devices working, but this is proving challenging for an old not particularly “techy”, casual user.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi @Peter_Iles,

You do not need to worry about losing your history here.

Go ahead and click Select a different Roon Server, it is safe to do so.

Roon is seeing your Nucleus and the old server as different because of the router change, but this does not erase anything on the Nucleus itself.

Please let us know how it goes.

Diagnostics indicate that at least one RoonServer associated with your account was recently active, so we’re going to optimistically assume you resolved this issue in the meantime.
