Tested some this afternoon and it’s much snappier and responsive. Huge improvement.
running on Synology 920+ with HDD. RAM is currently under 3 GB, before I was mostly around 4 GB. Also, CPU usage is down. Need more monitoring, but this is very promising.

Success with no issues to report. A little too early to tell but some indication that Roon Server is taking up less less memory. Hopefully, this will extend the use of my M1 Mac Mini with only 8 GB RAM as a Roon/Media Server. I think I’ll delay my search for a NAS for another year!
All the perf improvements are “universal”. You should see an improvement on any platform.
Thanks Roon!! I’ve been looking forward to this update. I have a huge audio library - nearly 400K tracks - and Roon is running so much faster! I’m also hoping ARC runs smoother too and will definitely test it soon. My issue was with my large library, Roon ARC would eventually crash after listening for awhile. And then you’d have to delete/re-install to fix it. Fingers crossed on that, but wanted to say, “well done, team!”
That is true. I updated my install on DSM 7.3 and it is working splendidly.
Anyone migrate from mackid1993 or Steef de Bruijn version of Roon to Roon’s own docker yet? Wondering if we have to install then restore, or just remap volumes - and if its worth it at all..
Its on my backlog list to try in the next few weeks..
Headed here to note how great this update is. Assuming performance does not degrade over the next couple of weeks this will be a transformative update.

I must have had lots of CPU power and spare memory on my server for my 12,500 album library. The performance is a little more peppy but not transformative. But every improvement is much appreciated.
Yeah, I’m surprised that it makes such a difference to many people. I have an average NUC with ROCK, 40k tracks and never any performance problems to speak about, and I haven’t seen much difference (and I’ve used it for quite a while in Early Access). E.g., skipping tracks was always instant for me.
Maybe it fixes some specific problem that people had.
Way faster on my end too. Skipping track after track after track on shuffle is virtually instant, loading album art included. My library is “only” 6714 albums but still… 
My Titan is running better than ever. Every single part of the UI is noticeably snappier…and more consistently snappy. Mystery lags seem to be gone. Loving it!
That’s good to hear because I had started to wonder if Roon was headed in the other direction. Perhaps a State of the Nation kind of update for customers would be helpful. I’d love to know a bit more about the future of Roon since the buyout.
I’m still fairly new at Roon (~8 months). In fact, I didn’t even know Roon existed a year ago 
I’ll pass along the suggestion for a “State of the Nation”, but for now…
We have expanded our team a bit and doing some really cool stuff including improving performance, modernizing things, and “other” things

Never really had any issues barring self made ones.
Can’t honestly say I see any difference but that’s likely because I never noticed any issues to begin with.
I am sincerely overjoyed that it is transformative for many users though.
I haven’t noticed a difference in responsiveness either, though that wasn’t an issue for me before the current update despite the fact that my Salkstream III streamer (purchased 2016), with single internal 2TB HDD running ArchLinux/Roonserver/local music library, doesn’t meet current Roon minimum specs.
I am curious to see if memory use is impacted on my streamer. Time will tell.
I’m glad others with an issue with responsiveness are seeing significant improvements. 
I feel like I’ll wake up soon and remember how good Roon was working in the dream I just had. 
Been running Roon 2.65 in EA for some time, across multiple Builds.
The RAM usage and management, particularly during the ‘Scheduled Activity’ did dramatically improve over the cycle of 2.65 builds - with 24/36 hour analysis based off logs showing peak usage down and improved memory management following the nominated window, during and following playback.
Didn’t notice any great performance improvement while using Roon at home, on my home network, but have a ‘1GBit/s everywhere’ network setup across wired and WiFi devices, a NUC7i7DNK based ROCK server with 16GB RAM & fast NVMe SSD, with local library on NAS with a 8TB library of 108k tracks/8k albums (over 70% in 24bit/HiRes formats and the remaining all lossless - purged mostly all lossy content), so pretty optimised for streaming & playback.
I am travelling at present (since the last EA build & production release of 2.65) but Roon ARC usage has been definitively faster to ‘wake back up’, search for content, establish playback stream, and continue a playback stream - all requiring good server & network performance.
So well done Roon team on 2.65
