Mac Mini late 2012
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 2.3Ghz Intel i7 16 GB RAM>
Replaced my external HD with a new SSD drive this AM and it was an identical copy of a good working drive and even connected to the same USB port on my late 2012 Mac Mini.
Entire library is there, INCLUDING my recently saved albums from Qobuz. But under Home/Recent Activity/Recently added NOTHING current shows added from Qobuz. Roon displays “Recently played” no probelm.
And worse yet, when I attempt to resore from a back up made to a location on my Mac Mini just last week I get an error message from Roon that “Backup failed.”

I’ll be honest I needed to read your post several times to try to understand your issue. I am still struggling to understand why you would expect to see Qobuz saved/favourited albums on an external SSD. Unless you are actually purchasing these albums and downloading to your SSD (outside of Roon) you will not see them on your SSD as they are being streamed from Qobuz.
Sorry, but maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I know of course Qobuz content is not stored on my external drive. But with the other drive, recently added favorites from Qobuz displayed in chronological order - which is to say Roon displayed new additions according to the date added by me.
Subsequently I discovered that “recently added” content DOES in fact reside within “Recently added” but it is not sorted as before , if that makes sense. It is there but simply sorted in a different way.
If you or anyone knows how to sort “Recently Added” content I’d appreciate you letting me know how to proceed. Everything is there, just sorted in a way I don’t particularly like Thanks!
The recently added section on the home page is chronological, so if that’s got messed up (somehow) when you switched to your new SSD I don’t think there’s anything you can do about it … other than to restore from a backup. You mentioned that attempting a restore from your most recent backup resulted in an error - do you have any older backups you could try?
@Robert_Furstenberg I now understand that you don’t expect to see Qobuz albums on your own SSD/HD. Why their added date has changed is beyond me.
In your original post you also mention that your backup is failing. That would seem to me to be a bigger problem than your Qobuz albums not being displayed the way you like?
Right! That WOULD be an issue but for reasons unknown, after I wiped the drive clean and was able to restore from a back up I’d made early this morning I was subsequently able to back up in TWO locations so for now I guess I’m good.
What I WOULD like to be able to do is to sort “Recently added” titles by “date added” so I can revisit those titles I’ve added most recently - rather than to hunt and peck for where Qobuz has randomly placed them. It seems as though it’s an integration issue between Roon and Qobuz. You’d think there’d be an easy way within Settings to sort in this way but I’ve not found it.
What you propose makes good sense except that I was remiss in backing up for a period of time so the backup most recent OTHER THAN the Nov 21 backup was mid September. So I opted for the most recent and while it drives me a little crazy. Now I can backup without issue. So I’ll deal with it I guess. In fact, even brand new titles that I add from Qobuz do not appear as they should in “Recently added.” In other words, if I add a brand new Qobuz release, it does not appear in most recently added. I have to scroll down to find it Really bizarre. The titles are there. And they appear in my library. And the reason I think there is a back issue with Qobuz server is bc Roon is PERFECT in displaying “Recently played.” So Roon knows what I’ve played and in which respective order I’ve played. It’s the integration with Qobuz that is, for lack of a better word, “whacky.”
When I go to Albums, everything sorts as expected, just as it should be: alphabetically by artist. And since “Recently played,” I presume, is entirely managed by Roon, everything appears in chronological order. That’s how it’s designed to work. So the glitch exists between Qobuz and Roon’s inability to sort in the same way - chronologically. Very bizarre. It simply makes no sense that swapping out external drives should create such aberrant behavior.
That said, curiously, this morning I added a title and vuela! The title showed up in the upper left hand corner of “Recently added,” as per normal behavior. Maybe they (Roon and the new drive) just had to “get acquainted “ and setttled in. Nonsense I know but can’t explain. Somewhere out there I imagine there is an explanation. But with my mid level understanding of technology it drives me crazy NOT to know. But comfort in knowing it’s all good going forward.
