New to RoPieeeXL! Not sure which settings to use!

I recently got my old system serviced and setup in my office. So I can stream to it, I added a Raspberry Pi 4 connected to a Schitt Modi 2 DAC. The DAC goes into an Adcom preamp, which controls the volume level. My issue is I’m not sure if I have checked the correct RoPieeeXL settings for optimal use. On the Roon tab, audio USB is checked. Should force volume be set to 100? On the XL tab, audio output is set to USB and No to volume control for all platforms that are shown. Are these the correct setting? I’m currently streaming Spotify, but with the volume level on the Adcom preamp set at 40, I have heard some pops/clipping in the speakers. The speakers (AR Classic 18) were also recently serviced.

Possible it could be the connection, WiFi can be the issue here, or perhaps the bitrate can also be too high.

As you don’t say what the connection or track rates are I guess we are going to need more info, tho with Spotify it’s unlikely to be the bit rate unless you are upsampling.

I was having issues with wifi so I did reflash XL. Wifi has been solid since. The connection is on my 5G network. The track rate is whatever Spotify streams at. I assume that is mp3. I don’t think I’m upsampling. I haven’t configured anything on the DAC. It only has a button to switch the source.
