No Audio after last Roon update

Well, all was fine until I clicked UPDATE ALL on the latest Roon update.

Now I have no audio - everything is gone…I have Audio that I never use like Sonos speakers that are gone. My Airplay, Ropieee, and WiiM endpoints are gone.

I checked the WiiM with Tidal Connect and it is fine.

Some major bug in the update? I recently upgraded my Mac to Sequoia. Does Roon need some permission somewhere?

I’m dead in the water.

Check macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, make sure Roon is allowed:

Seems that the Sequoia update reset this for some people (not for me though)

First thing I did. Yes it is allowed both on my core (Mac Mini m1) and my remote (Intel iMac).

Remember, all was fine before the Roon update.

I had another software problem with Mac Sequoia and it was resolved when I rebooted the Mac.

So after I type this, I’ll reboot.

It worked, !!!

A reboot of the Mac was needed.

The other software with a similar problem was Channels DVR…it could not find my HDHomeRuns and Tech support was telling me to check Local Network permissions which is why I checked this for Roon first (but it was OK).

What was common with both was they both were OK with Sequoia OS before an update of the APP.

There is something amiss with the Sequoia which happens in early Mac releases.

UPDATE: I just checked a MacBook M2 and it did not have Local Network permission for Roon. When I turned it on, all was well with Roon on the laptop.

Note also that some of my Macs, after the Sequoia update, asked permission for access on either the first boot or when the APP was first started. Both Roon and Channels are run at startup so maybe that’s the common denominator. I don’t remember getting asked for either of them.
