Hey @Hannan_Herscovitz,

Thanks for taking the time to write in! We’ve seen some odd permissions issues pop up with users who’ve recently updated to Sequoia, could you try the following:

Navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure Roon is allowed. If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

We’ll be on standby for your results :+1:

Thank you

It worked with network devices, not with Schiit Modious dac connected directly via usb to the Mac, it recognised the dac but playback crashes.

Hi @Hannan_Herscovitz,
Thanks for getting back to us with that. Can you reproduce the playback failure with your DAC and let us know the date and time it happened as well as the track that was playing? With that information we can track down the event in your logs.

I have the same issue. Roon server - Mac Mini M2 running Sequoia 15.0. iMac running Ventura 13.7. No audio zones are recognized or show other than the Mac Mini. Tried the steps described, rebooted everything, same issue.

It happenes on every track I play since the network devices issue was fixed, I,m adding screen shot

Our apologies @Hannan_Herscovitz it looks like our servers aren’t able to connect to your instance of Roon Server, could you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

Thank you!

Hey @Hannan_Herscovitz,

No need to worry about getting logs, our servers were able to enable diagnostic mode for your ROon Server and we were able to review a fresh error report.

During playback, we see repeating {RAAT__OUTPUT_PLUGIN_STATUS_FORMAT_NOT_SUPPORTED","status":"UnexpectedError"} errors that seem odd considering the file format your attempting to play is 16-bit/44.1kHz.

For some next steps, can you:

  1. Check the DAC configuration and ensure that the Schiit Unison Modius is properly set up to accept 16-bit/44.1kHz PCM audio.
  2. Update firmware/drivers and make sure the DAC’s firmware and drivers are up to date, as this might resolve compatibility issues.
  3. Check cables and ports with the DAC and the Mac, test out using a different USB cable if possible

I am having the same issue as @Hannan_Herscovitz. After upgrading to sequoia on both my Roon Remote (macbook pro) and Roon Server (headless Mac mini), my roon remote no longer recognizes any local audio devices on the Roon Remote - including the system output or any connected dac/speakers. The only audio devices that show up are those connected to the Roon Server (which doesn’t help). See attached screenshot.

I have tried toggling the macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network off and then on again, with no luck.

Please help.

I re-installed Roon, now it’s all OK…

I tried that - at least uninstalling and re-installing Roon on the Remote machine, with no luck.

Furthermore, now I have 2 instances of Roon appearing in the macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network menu. See below screenshot.

That’s strange.
