Describe the issue

No audio devices found

Describe your network setup

Wired ethernet plus ubiquti. Affects all zones. Roon core running on M1 Mac mini, Mac OS X 15.7.1. Roon server 2.55 build 1559. Have to restart Roon to get audio devices to show up

I have such a problem after each Roon update.

How I solve it:

I disconnect my MacMini M4 from the LAN (turn off the switch), wait 1-2 minutes and connect it again. It’s also better to overload the computer. I don’t understand why this is happening, but it helps.

disable and re-enable Roon in OSx firewall typically is doing the magic after updates

Good day @Matt_Levin !

I hope you’re doing well.

Typically, the advises provided by @Alex_Smith1 and @Stefan_Mauron are solving the problem.

Please observe their advises and let us know please whether it helps.

Looking forward to your reply!

Regards.

Hello,
Simply restarting Roon usually resolves the issue. However, that is not a fix. This is a bug and should be filed with the developers. Only started happening within the last release or two. Possibly related to Sequoia as well.

Thanks,

Matt

Hey @Matt_Levin,

We’d be happy to take a closer look behind the scenes to see what might be going on - could you please reproduce the issue and share the specific date and time, as well as the audio device that disconnects?

We’ll enable diagnostics on your Roon Server for further analysis. Thank you! :folded_hands:

Sure I can do that. All audio devices disconnect. I will watch for the next time it happens and note the date/time.

Is there anything specific I need to do for you to enable diagnostics on my server?

Do you need more details about my network configuration and specific mac hardware?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi @Matt_Levin !

No, you don’t have to do anything specific.

We can see your Roon Server reports issues and crash records to us so we can see some of them.

Just let us know the time and date of when will the issue happen next time so we can narrow down the scope of investigation.

Regards!

I have this issue currently ongoing. You can check example today logs around 18:00 EET.
Difference is that I am running Roon on Linux.
I have rebooted Linux as well.

For me it only sees local audio devices:

It do not see example device where I run roon software to control it:

Same happens if I look from phone.
As well it do not see my network connected audio devices.

Actually thing changed… I rebooted my network speaker and it did appear there again.
But for reason my PC Windows 11 where Roon “client” is running is not show at all… it is rebooted as well.

Sorry spamming

I did found issue on PC… it had changed profile to public network. Once changed it it started to work once I restarted Roon client.

Other network device did not get found until I rebooted it after upgrade.

Hi @Jesse_Lahtela,

Please also ensure that RoonServer.exe and RAATServer.exe are still exempted in the Windows Defender firewall. Windows sometimes treats Roon updates like a new application, reverting the Roon-relevant Defender settings to default.

@Matt_Levin, we haven’t heard from you in a few days on this thread as the OP. Are you still experiencing this issue after updating to the latest build?

Hi,
I just installed the update. I have been rather busy with work the past few days and haven’t listened to Roon much. Will continue to monitor when I next listen and report if the issue still happens. Thanks-

Matt

I just tried Roon on the mac mini directly and can see local zones only. 10/31/25 19:52 EDT. I also tried at 17:00 from from iphone and same issue. Screen shots attached.

Logged out current user and logged back in, re-launched Roon —> can see zones.

Most excellent news @Matt_Levin - glad to hear refreshing things seemed to have solved you - certainly let us know if anything changes over the next few days!

Happy listening! :musical_note:

Sure but that doesn’t solve the bug.
