· Hi Roon team - I'm unsure why my Audio settings is showing 'no audio devices found'. I'm still using my laptop still as the Roon node and normally use the Bluesound Node or my laptop itself with a dongle dac. I've confirmed my Bluesound Node and Laptop running Roon are both connected to the same wifi network, and my Tidal connect is working fine still at the moment when using the Bluesound. I've looked through the Roon advice page but mine is a bit weird as I have no audio devices at all showing up under settings - audio. Is there something that I can do to re-setup the audio devices? Any info is appreciated :) Regards, Andrew
When all audio devices suddenly disappear from the Settings > Audio page—including local devices like a dongle DAC plugged directly into your laptop—it almost always points to a software-level block on the laptop itself, rather than a network problem with your Telstra router.
The background process responsible for discovering and communicating with your audio equipment is called RAAT (Roon Advanced Audio Transport). If your laptop’s security software suddenly decides to block this process, your audio settings will go completely blank.
Here is what you need to check to get your devices back:
Check Third-Party Antivirus Quarantine
If you are using a third-party antivirus program (like Norton, McAfee, Bitdefender, or Kaspersky) separate from the standard Windows Defender, please open it and check the Quarantine or Protection History sections. Sometimes, these programs falsely flag a background Roon process after an update and silently quarantine raatserver.exe. If you see it there, please restore the file and add it to your antivirus exceptions.
Check Windows Firewall Exceptions
Even if you only use Windows Defender, the firewall can sometimes block Roon’s network access. You need to ensure both of these processes are allowed through the firewall:
Roon.exe
raatserver.exe
. Verify your Network Profile
On Windows, if your Wi-Fi network profile accidentally switched from “Private” to “Public,” the operating system will instantly block the laptop from seeing or talking to other devices on your home network (like your Bluesound Node).
Go to your Windows Network & Internet Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on your Telstra network name, and make sure the Network Profile Type is set to Private.
After checking these settings, give your laptop a quick reboot and open Roon again.
