Description of Issue

I recently lost my connection to my nucleus. After a number of attempts I managed to get control but now cannot see any of my audio zones.
The only thing changed has been my router to an ASUS. Pls help

Just another Roon subscriber here.

It seems likely that by adding the router, you have unintentionally created two different networks. Roon Server is now on one network and the rest of your home is likely on the other. Although all of your devices can probably still reach the Internet, this network split has made it impossible for Roon to discover your audio components.

Can you revert the router change? If not, please provide more detail about the rest of your network and how each device that’s part of your Roon system is connected.

Thank you David. The main connection comes into the modem - from the modem I have a. Connection to my ASUS mesh router. All my devices are connected to my modem directly. When I look through the router - I can see all my devices except the room nucleus. Like you say my nucleus is connected to the internet - but the IP address is completely different. All my devices are 192.x.x.x. While my nucleus is on 112.x.x.x

I guess I’m struggling with how do I get my nucleus into the same IP batch as the rest.

112.x.x.x is not a private, reserved IP address range. No router would assign a 112. address to a device on the LAN.

What is the point of the Asus router if you connect your devices to the modem?

IF the modem is just working as a regular switch and has one Ethernet connection to the router, then it shouldn’t hurt to do it this way, but I’m not sure it is configured that way. I’m not sure what it is doing, but sometimes there‘s an Ethernet port in modems or routers that has a specific function. Maybe the Nucleus gets the 112 address because it’s connected to such a port.

If possible, I’d connect all devices to the router instead

Thanks for the information… I’ve changed my wiring. So I now have my main modem feeding my ASUS WiFi router which connects to a powered bridge which has all devices connected including the Nucleus. I can see the nucleus is now in my IP range- though I cannot see my audio zones.
My nucleus is on 192.168.50.191. My blusound is on 192.168.50.193 but still doesn’t show up in my audio zone.
Think I’m missing something but can’t figure just what it is

Try rebooting the Nucleus and the endpoints and see if things pop in.

No luck after doing both

Progress  Are all your devices, wired and wifi, now in the 192.168.50.x range?

Yes all are. I checked in the ASUS router app and can see all devices including the nucleus there

Can you post a screenshot of Roon’s Settings > General screen? Blank out your email address in the screenshot (not a good idea to post email addresses in a public forum). Thanks.

Thanks - I just wanted to confirm that you were in fact connected to the Nucleus, and not to another Roon Server.

Can you also post a screenshot of Roon’s Settings > Audio screen?

What other devices do you have besides the iPhone and the Nucleus? I see a Roon Ready section at the bottom of the screenshot - can you scroll down and show us what other devices are known to Roon?

BTW, if you have Roon running on a PC or Mac, a screenshot taken there will show more information because of the bigger screens…

You’re the best Geoff. The end points needed to be enabled. I just did and it’s all working. Thanks a ton
