No Native DSD option in Roon set (McIntosh C53) when playing DSD512

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

NUC8i5 with Rock Server

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

McIntosh C53 connected via USB with NUC

Description Of Issue

No Native DSD option in Roon setup (McIntosh C53) when playing DSD512. It convert it to PCM.

You should contact McIntosh and verify that the C53 can do native DSD 512 with Linux. Usually, high rate DSD is done via Windows with the ASIO driver. Otherwise, Linux ( and Mac) use DoP.

If it can, then you need to verify if that ROCK’s kernel is patched for that specific DAC.

Hello @Bas_Van_Kesteren,

Native DSD is only available for McIntosh DACs on Windows using ASIO driver, McIntosh does not support Native DSD on Linux.

Thanks for the answer.
