When Playing Music There Is No Track Break

Ethernet . MacMini M2 Pro. Server version 2.0 (build 1483) 23,000 albums stored on Thunder Bay 4 connected by ThunderBolt into Mac.
Xfinity cable modem bridged into Eero mesh base unit into Luxor gigabit switch then cat 7 into TP-Link TL-Sg-108 gigabit switch into cat 6 into UpTone EtherREGEN switch into Ifi LAN iPurifier Pro into Ifi ZenStream into Uptone USB Regen ito Audio GD DI-24HE DDC then I2S into Audio GD R7 HE DAC.

Five seconds before first track is complete music smoothly transfers to next track.
I have tried removing various interconnected network devices. Have tried connecting to System Output. This issue has been continuous for about one week, while I have researched on Roon forums and experimented.

Sounds like you might have enabled crossfade. Note that this is a per-zone setting, so it may differ between different output devices.

Click the volume icon in the play bar, then the zone settings (cog wheel):

Check the crossfade time:

We agree with @Suedkiez - let us know if you see crossfade enabled within your Signal Path and or zone options! :raised_hands:

YES, that solved the issue. I had been playing with settings not understanding what direction it works. NOWHERE does Roon define cross fade. Could have saved me hours of work.

It’s not very well explained what it does, indeed. I suppose they thought it’s a common enough notion among music listeners, but maybe not. A definition is quite easily found on Google, but it would be better to have a short hint directly in the software.
