No volume using HiFiberry Dac+Pro through my Meridian Prime Amp

Just connected a HiFiberry Dac+Pro to Raspberry Pi4b. The raspberry Pi4b is connected to a Meridian Prime Headphone Amplifier.No problem with the USB connection into the Prime. Sounds great… Have connected the HiFiberry analogue out to the Meridian in. Have enabled HiFiberry Dac Hat in Roipeee. Roon can see the Hifiberry Dac.I can choose it as an endpoint. When I play a track the path shows up just fine however there is no sound through the meridian and my headphones. Have tried the various volume types…fixed, DSP etc but with no joy. I am obviously missing something really simple! Any ideas? Thanks Richard

Show us the signal path to it might help us help you get to the bottom of it. Volume should be set to fixed. Also show your Ropieee settongs.

Thank you. Volumes are both fixed in Roipeee and on the Meridian Prime Amplifier.

Odd, have you tried it outputting to something else other than the Meridian ? To see if that’s the issue.

Post the main settings and if using Ropieee XL that one as well.

I think volume should be set to “Device Volume”, this setting works with my hifiberry amp, which Ropieee see’s as a dac+.

Not for DAC fixed is the way. as you want it to output line level or you using crappy digital volume attentuation and not you amps decent analogue stage. Amp+ has an amp in it so device is the only way unless you want full volume all the time. I have both Amp+ and DAC+ and this is how they are setup.

Thank for your help. I had initially installed the software on Ropieee for HiFiBerry Dac/Dac+Pro/Amp2. This did not seem to work so I then installed HiFiBerry Dac which was when I asked the question on the Community Board. This morning I reinstalled the first software install and reduced the Max sample rate in Roon Set Up to 192Khz for the HiFiberry Dac Pro + which is the maximum that the Meridian Prime Amp can cope with…and voila I have sound!
