I did some preliminary documentation based on some probing and reverse engineering of the API: roon-api-documentation/audio_input_service.md · main · dottydingo / projects / roon / roon-api-java · GitLab

I have used it to automatically play a stream that I capture from an FM tuner so that I can listen to the local classical station on zones in my house. There are options that I haven’t really figured out how to use but that use case is fairly straightforward. I haven’t published the project that implements this but I’m happy to share if there is any interest.

If you like to have a Plug&Play solution instead of tinkering you can also use rooExtend that also offers this.

Has anyone managed to send or update artwork via AudioInputTrackInfo or otherwise? Be great if we could?

Also their latest build of Roon seems to have dropped support for the device icon instead there is now just a disconnect button. Anyone else noticed that? Anyone at Roon know if it’s coming back?

Yes it works, the field is called image_url. It does not display in the Roon App UI but it does show up on a remote display.

It would be so cool if I could tell rooextend about my SoundCloud/Mixcloud/Spotify accounts and it looks up my playlists there and let me play them via rooplay or Rooaidj
