Noob. Do I need a driver to pull down my NAA?

Hello, I need some help. Trying this out with an HP laptop. Ryzen 5 5650U Pro, 16gb RAM. My DAC is a Bricasti M1SE with network player built in. Direct Ethernet no USB. Is the laptop too weak? It just sits at 0.00

HQPlayer uses its own network distribution. Once Roon hands the signal off to HQPlayer, Roon has nothing to do with any further audio distribution. So, Roon endpoints do not work, you have to have NAA (HQPlayer Audio Endpoints). You have it setup correctly, except for the final device selection.

In the pic below copied from your post, you have not chosen a Device, it is blank,

If the Bricasti M1 SE has the NAA endpoint software it should show up in that drop down for selection. However, I didn’t find any information confirming that the Bricasti actually had the NAA software.

If it doesn’t then, your only option is to put an NAA endpoint in front of the Bricasti and connect via USB, this could be a Pi running the appropriate software, a PC running the software, or a device like a Holo Red (which is both a Roon and HQPlayer) endpoint.

Thank you. I will see if Bricasti has this “driver”. The whole point of the direct Ethernet player is for improved sound quality.

Good Luck, there are some streaming DACs on the market that include NAA but it is far from the norm. Most of them are on the expensive end like, T+A SD 3100 HV, although one is under a Grand, the Gustard AUDALYTIC AH90 Network Streamer.

And also other Gustard devices are not so expensive either…
