Not possible configure Auralic Altair as Roon core

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Auralic Altair 6.1.1 connected with WiFi

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Router Siligence SGA441SW

Failure Description
Not possible configure Auralic Altair as Roon core

  • Altair is connected with WiFi and Roon is activated

  • iPad Air2 has the roon remote App installed

The App cannot find the Altair. Even when I type the IP in the help field

PC as Roon core works. There I can add the Altair and can play music

  • When I try under Settings changing the Roon core to the Altair still the same: cannot find the Altair

The Auralic Altair is a roon-ready Streamer / DAC. It’s not possible to use this device as a roon core. You need a computer like a MAC or Windows PC to run the core. I recommend to read this introduction: https://roonlabs.com/howroonworks.html

As Chris mentioned above, the Auralic is a Roon Ready endpoint but it is not a Core device. I recommend checking out our Getting Started Guide for more information on getting started with Roon. If you have any questions about this please let us know!
