Syndee Winters - Syndee Winters Sings Lena Horne

Surprisingly entertaining, by “surprisingly” I mean that I didn’t know what to expect, new release available on Tidal and Qobuz. I would love to know who is playing in the her band, since they sound great, but, as usual for new jazz release, there is no metadata and a Google search returned nothing useful. Oh well

Very groove driven jazz by the guitarist for Snarky Puppy.

New treasure hunt find, my first Pete Fountain (AKA Pierre LaFontaine). A double Decca with great liner notes. Looks like this is available on Qobuz.

Peggy Lee: Black Coffee and Other Delights. Another treasure hunt find. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’m not sure this double-disc Decca is on Qobuz, but Black Coffee with Peggy Lee may be a good substitute.
Fun Fact: “Sonny” Burke and Peggy Lee wrote the songs to Disney’s Lady and the Tramp . . . and later Lee sued Disney (and won!). Wow.
