THX, missing streaming seems to be the reason…
Stuff like that and daily mixes all rely on streaming services. The 6 daily mixes Roon creates for me on daily basis are all a mix of tracks coming from either Qobuz or my local library.
Hey @Matz, @SandsOfArrakis guessed correctly. Playlists by Roon, Daily Mixes, New Releases For You, other assorted recommendations, and some cool stuff that’s on the way all require having a streaming service linked with Roon.
These examples are just a few of the reasons why we say having streaming, in addition to a rich local library, unlocks Roon’s full potential. If you’d like, you can experience that by signing up for a free 60-day trial of Qobuz for being a Roon user. You can find all the details here!
THX,but no need for
If a music lover claims they don’t need all the streaming music currently in print, for free, for 60 days, and I fall over, but nobody is there to hear it, do I still crack my hip? ![]()
I agree there. Qobuz got me buying quite a few albums from their shop. So I am not only using Qobuz for streaming to supplement my own library. But it also allows me to add to said library
And 60 days is really a steal. I mean normally you’ll get 30 days for free with Qobuz if you sign up with them for a trial.
Never ask if you’re stupid or someone might answer ![]()
Thank you for keeping the jazz flowing!
So just how big is a 33 minute 352.8kHz/32bit WAV file? But more importantly WHY?
5,24 GB
Torben
Or….if my memory serves me correctly,
Here’s the breakdown,
- Total seconds: 33 minutes * 60 seconds = 1980 seconds
- Bits per sample: 32 bits
- Samples per second: 352,800 Hz
- Channels: 2 (for stereo)
- Total bits: 1980 * 352800 * 32 * 2 = 44,699,520,000 bits
- Total bytes: 44,699,520,000 / 8 = 5,587,440,000 bytes
- Total gigabytes: 5,587,440,000 bytes / (1024 * 1024 * 1024) = 5.20 GB
Okay that’s part one. Now why do you use such a large file format?
