NUC 8i3 & ROCK - measured power consumption

Hi,

I’ve read about everything everywhere but nothing never about how much power does our NUC 8i3 to run Roon ROCK… the NUC has been assembled using exactly components as from specs in Roon user guide

I’ve run the test with DSP always on… the brick supply 19,45Vdc

  • at the start… peak of 1,51A and then stabilized at 0,23A
  • from radio to Roon point via LAN, 0,23A
  • from radio to DAC via USB, no upscale, peak of 0,8A and then stable at 0,5A
  • from radio to DAC with upscale DSD128 peak of 1,2A and then stable at 0,6A
  • from library 96/24 to DSD128 peak of 1,3A and then stable at 0,6A
  • from library 96/24 to DSD256 peak at 1,3A and then stable at 0,6A
  • from library 44/16 and upscale DSD… same values as above
  • doing backup on external SDD peak max 1,45A
  • doing nothing, just waiting orders… stable at 0,25A
  • standby… stable at 0,022A

All the values “stable” are roughly/average over couple of minutes of measure time.

Hope will be useful to someone.
