For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.
· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.
Describe the issue
Just installed Starlink. Coming from a Rogers 5G service in which roon worked. NUC hangs during boot "searching for Network address". OS is 2.1 (build 271). NUC is hardwired to tplink switch which is working and running a separate mesh router so know it is operational. There is no indicator light on the switch showing that the NUC is connecting. I have cleaned out the NUC and cleaned the ethernet port using a swab and alcohol. What am I missing?
Describe your network setup
Starlink Mini UTR-251 ethernet cable to TP link sg105. NUC 10i5
Thanks for that. I have done the above and when asked if i wish to reset network i hit enter and the screen went back to the picture as above.
I rebooted the system and same message.
Hmm, that means your PC is not seeing an DHCP server on the network. In order of things to try
Change the ethernet cable from the NUC to the TP link sg105. Reboot
If no change, then..
Change the port the ethernet is connected to on the TP LINK SG105. ( Ports can go bad). Reboot
if no change, then..
Verify that your DHCP server is up and running. Do you have any other devices connected via ethernet to the router? Are they getting served an IP address?
For what its worth, I am using the switch to run a Starlink router in my basement connected by ethernet and it is operating properly. Both the port for it and the port for the connection to the base router, have the fast flashing green light showing connected and transferring. When I connect the NUC to the switch, no light at all.
Just to update this. According to Starlink support I am dealing with the NUC not seeing the network and leading toward an issue with my ethernet port on the NUC or with cables (though I have been through a few of those. I feel I may be getting closer.
Thanks for the updates so far! Certainly, let us know how the additional investment into the ethernet port goes, and if you require any additional assistance along the way.
