Description of Issue

I just ordered this today and noticed a small asterisk in the ROCK image download section that Roon does not support HDMI Audio on NUC12! Is this just for the ROCK Linux image or if I install Windows 11 on this machine, can I then use HDMI Audio with Roon?

Hi @Thomas_Strade, welcome to the forum.

I’m a fellow a Roon user, I believe the HDMI issue is with ROCK. The original post is about thunderbolt but HDMI is mentioned as the start of the “wonky” stuff.

New ROCK will not recognise Thunderbolt Drive

there is a lot of stuff we are finding wonky on this nuc… it started with HDMI audio, but now we are seeing other stuff not functioning as expected.

As I replied to your same question in another thread, the necessary HDMI audio drivers are present in Windows 11.

Thanks for the replies.

I decided to cancel the order and will probably cancel the Roon trial. I don’t have time to weed through this very robust forum, searching for answers, then tweaking a Windows based PC. Can I? Yes. But I was looking for a plug and play solution and this has turned into a project.
