Description of Issue

Seeing this error when attempting to play any local library, Qobuz or radio to the dCS Upsampler. The Upsampler has no problem playing Qobuz or radio when initiated by the Mosaic app from iPad. And I can get Roon to play to other Roon ready devices (iPad, Mac Mini) for local files, Qobuz, or radio stations).

This Nucleus has been fine for months. Started behaving erratically this morning in playback, even mixing up music it was sending versus what it showed it was playing. Then this happened. Powered off Nucleus, after restarting the downstream dCS Upsampler. Also tried disabling and reenabling the dCS in Roon audio settings.

OK. So this is getting strange. Since I created this ticket, I went off to get my latest booster for Covid. As always, I stopped whatever stream I had going, in this case Mosaic playing Qobuz on my dCS Upsampler to DAC, etc. I came back and thought why not try to see if the same symptoms happened again. Lo and behold the Nucleus has decided it can now “reach” the dCS Upsampler and play local, Qobuz and radio station sources. What concerns me is why it wasn’t and now is working.

Hopefully someone in support can access my Nucleus to find out or let me know how & what to gather to send if that’s the proper process.

Hi @stevebythebay ,

Glad to hear that the issue is resolved on your end. I enabled diagnostics for your Core, but there is not much useful information in the logging. It looks like there was a temporary network issue and you were getting dropouts on the upsampler, but then the issue corrected itself. If you see the behavior occur again, please do let us know, I will mark your previous post as the solution for now.

Thanks for having a look. Networking problems are the bane of my existence. Chasing problems on a router I was using, called a Firewalla, led to my abandoning the device recently. Returned to using the function in my TP-Link x60’s. I’d hoped the Firewalla would, through its firewall capabilities, provide solid information and control. Unfortunately, their support is quite weak. In future may have to replace everything with Ubiquiti gear, if I want solid hardware based firewall.

In future I’ll be more methodical in tracking down problems with Roon. I probably should have rebooted the dCS Upsampler and then the Roon Nucleus Plus.
