· I use a single personal router not provided by my ISP
ARC Status
· ARC is *Ready*
Describe the issue
Nucleus cannot be found by iOS27 neither on iPad nor on iPhone27ProMax. Roon is working flaelessly using Dell computer with Windows 11.
Describe your network setup
Fritzbox fibef 5690Pro, direct LAN connection to Nucleus, latest Nucleus firmware installed, Nucleus is recognized by Fritzbox router. Nucleus cannot be found on iOS27 devices using IP address only by nucles/xxx
Windows finds the Nucleus and the iOS devices do not, so this is about discovery on the iOS side rather than the Nucleus itself.
Three things, in order of effort.
On both the iPhone and the iPad, please open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Local Network, and check that Roon is listed and switched on. If it is already on, please switch it off and back on, then force close Roon and open it again. iOS uses that permission to let an app find devices on your network.
On the FRITZ!Box there is a setting called Software Packet Acceleration which we know interferes with remotes connecting. Please switch it off if your model offers it. That and a few other router settings are covered here: https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/networking-best-practices
Could you also clarify what you meant by “using IP address only by nucleus/xxx”? We want to know whether that was in the Roon app or the Nucleus web page in a browser.
I tested your suggestion already before you replied and it did not resolve the issue. It seems to be a ROON software bug after updating to iOS 27 since before it was working fine.
Also I cannot find the acceleration setting you were talking about, please show me where I can find it in the menu of my Ftizbox 5690Pro. To my knowledge this acceleration is handled automatically.
Is there any other advice you can provide to resolve the bug? Is Roon already working on a solution?
We need a little more context in order to ascertain what’s wrong here. Did you have Roon installed on these iOS devices before you updated to the latest iOS (27), or are these new devices onto which you just installed Roon?
We don’t see any Roon Remotes associated with your account; only ARC appears to be registered to these iOS devices.
Please uninstall and reinstall Roon on the iPad and iPhone and then share a screenshot here of what you see after logging in.
Your initial post seems to refer to the Nucleus webUI on a browser; is that correct?
I use Roon on several devices (MacMini M4, iPad Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, always updated as soon Apple updates appear) since several years and never had issues, I use a Fritzbox 6690 cable router. Then, updating to iOS27, Roon lost contact to my Nucleus server (I did not change anything). It is impossible to access any content. A bit later I moved to our new house equipped with Fritz5690Pro fiber router. Internet works, Nucleus was instantly recognized in my network. Also using my other 5690Pro environment, Roon cannot be used. The system is working, since I could direct access and use Roon using my Windows 11 laptop. so the environment must be working, just Apple mobile phones cannot be sued - which is REALLY BAD…
Thanks for the added detail, especially that Roon still works from Windows while the iPhone and iPad do not. Please try the steps in our macOS 27 article, since that is the path we want to compare against here: macOS 27: Roon Server can no longer see your network audio devices.
If those steps do not change anything, let us know and we will keep working through it with you, thank you.
We released a hotfix for the macOS issue, so please update Roon to the latest version and let us know whether that helps. If it does not, please let us know.
